SELLWOOD PASSIVE HOUSE
We started this project by gently deconstructing the original 100year old ‘house’ that was sited at the very back edge of the property. A fun but long process as there were hidden pockets of blown in insulation, and essentially no studs on the inside of the home, just layers of 1x material and old paper-based sheathing that was plastered over.
We tried to get this home panelized and talked with several companies about this, but ended up essentially building the house on-site as large panels and then lifting them in place with insulation and rain screen attached.
Custom tile work from Tempest Tile and amazing wood from Zena Forest products help add to the livable charm of this warm, modern home.
